COPD patients are at greater risk of developing severe Covid-19 disease: Dr Sundeep Salvi, Director, PURE Foundation

The number of ACE-2Rs are significantly higher in patients with COPD, especially in their lung. This makes them more vulnerable to catch the infection. Once the already compromised lung gets infected with SARC-Cov2 virus, they readily develop Covid pneumonia and its sequalae.
