Depending on where you live in India, cleaner air could extend yours or a loved one’s life anywhere between seven to ten years. A report on air pollution looks at how much air pollution levels could be reducing lifespans and also shows that some of the worst affected regions aren’t even India’s biggest cities.

The Air Quality Life Index (AQLI) report says that in major cities like Delhi and Kolkata, and the cities that lie between them, people could live seven to 10 years less if the air pollution levels remain at those seen in 2019.
